Samsung launches Curvy Phablet, the Galaxy Round

Monday, October 14th, 2013

Last week saw Samsung launch what it is calling the “world’s first curved display smartphone”, the Galaxy Round. As expected last week Samsung revealed its long-rumoured Galaxy Gear smartwatch. While it may have beaten Apple to be the first dominant smartphone manufacturer to make one its high price and Samsung device exclusivity have left many wondering if the time is really ripe for a new device craze. Several factors could hinder the Korean phone-maker from being the one to launch a new fad but even so the Gear still has some redeeming features. (more…)

Symptoms include feelings of envy, dissatisfaction and thinking that a perfectly capable gadget is no longer of any use because it has slightly lower specs than the latest smartphone or tablet which has been released. Apple vs Samsung, who’s really going to pay?

Friday, August 3rd, 2012

Can you feel your respect for Apple and Samsung slowly eroding? That’s probably because over the last few months it’s been impossible to follow either of the companies in the news without coming across a story of one claiming the other has copied them. Their fight has the distinct air of two children squabbling, with every claim seeming more ridiculous than the last. Samsung has been the one coming off worse where legal action is concerned though and now both companies are locking horns in court in the US in a fight that could cost one of them billions of dollars in damages.
