In years gone by, it seemed that handshakes, our hairstyles, and our dress sense spoke volumes about us and was what people would instantly pick up on.

Apparently, handshakes needed to be firm but not too firm. Too firm means you’re trying too hard. Seriously, people actually think like this! Studies have even shown that upon meeting someone for the first time, they would form an opinion about you in three seconds.

And so bearing this in mind, a new book has been released which explains how we now mould our perception of others based on the tech of their choice.

According to a new gadget survey, the iPod is the 7th best piece of kit of all time!

The Apple MP3 player which has revolutionised the way we listen to music in the 21st century featured in the top ten alongside items such as the digital camera, sat nav, laptop and iPhone.

On the flipside of the coin, the worst gadgets were announced too with the electric candle winning… or rather losing… that particular battle.

But, in reality, how do all those new features break down in functionality? And what about the bugs that users seem to be experiencing with the new system?

Updating your device to IOS 4 is fairly straightforward. Simply connect your device to iTunes, select the device in the sidebar and then click ‘Check for Updates’ in the ‘Summary’ tab.
