U.S. filmmaker Dan Woolley saved by iPhone App

First aid, second chance.

Take the example of the US filmmaker that was trapped in the rubble of his hotel after the Haitian earthquake on January 12th this year. He used an iPhone First Aid app to treat his broken leg, a head wound and to stop himself from slipping into shock. In the end he was able to stay alive long enough for a rescue team to find him and subsequently made a full recovery. (more…)

Statistics show that sales of iPhone 4 are already slowing, as sales of Android handsets increase, so it will come as a significant blow to Apple if, as Internet rumours indicate, iPhone 5 may not appear until November. Previously, a July launch had been suggested. (more…)

The ‘PaperPhone’ – No Lightweight When It Comes To Functionality

Researchers at Queen’s University in Canada have developed a phone that is as thin and almost as flexible as a sheet of paper. The mastermind behind the prototype 9.5cm ‘PaperPhone’, Roel Vertegaal, says the new technology could replace Smartphones within a decade. (more…)
