We know just how prominent gadgets will be on wish lists this Christmas with hundreds of exciting gizmos jumping out at us in every store and on seemingly every website. But with numerous brands already planning an updated release of a particular product, is Christmas the time to buy?

In the next six to 12 months, all the big manufacturers – such as Apple, Sony and Samsung – will undoubtedly have irons in their fire and some upgrades have already been announced, so maybe we should have a little patience?

As mentioned here on December 6th, the poll to work out the greatest gadget of the 21st century became a straight fight between the last two gadgets standing – the iPhone and the Xbox 360.

And after six weeks of techno-trash talking and gadget gabble, it was the Apple iPhone that reigned supreme.


Sony PSP2 Graphics Rumours Gathering Pace

According to the latest internet talk with rumours spreading like wildfire across tech forums, the PSP2 will feature graphics on par with the PlayStation 3.

Popular entertainment and gaming site IGN was the epicentre of the recent rumours and were more than confident in them, as they described the PSP2 as producing graphics ‘comparable to early PlayStation 3 titles’.


Apple ‘iPad 2’ Just Months Away From UK Stores

It only seems like a matter of months since its innovative, original concept hit our shelves but talk is now rife about the iPad 2 being available as early as March 2011.

Mass production is set to take place in the early weeks of next year at Foxconn, the Chinese factory which produces numerous different components for Apple products, and they’re expected to ship an initial 500,000 iPad 2 units according to The DigiTimes.

The tournament has been spread over six weeks to find the best gadget of the 21st Century so far and tech fans are being asked to whittle down a list of 32 gadgets until there’s just a single one remaining.

In fact, a massive 62% of fashion-savvy males have requested clothes on their Christmas list to Santa, with 4% asking for a pair of UGG boots! Deary me.


Christmas Gadget Demands Leaving Parents Priced Out

We do love our surveys… normally because just around the corner, there’s another survey to dispel the one that we just read earlier! Just a few days after one bit of national research suggested gadgets will be THE most sought-after gift this Christmas, another study reckons otherwise…

Apparently, UK shoppers are being priced out of the gadget market with most requests from kids and teenagers sitting in the £429 – £599 bracket. With total gadget gift spend averaging £275 per gift buyer this Christmas, and only half of consumers willing to spend up to £200 on gadget gifts, buyers are unable to fulfil their friends and family’s expensive gadget wishes and are turning to more affordable gadget accessories.
